Our Services in Geotechnical Investigation


AKM Geotechnical are providing the following services in Geophysical Investigations:

  • Seismic Refraction Survey

    These surveys are a method for investigating the geological structure and rock properties. This process observes the Seismic signal that is refracted between layers of contrasting seismic velocity. The results are then presented in the form of Seismic velocity boundaries and then the data processing is carried out. The final result is a velocity model section of the subsurface based on an observed layer sequence with measured velocities

  • Down hole/Cross-hole Seismic Survey

    These kinds of surveys measure geological boundaries and rock velocities in the vicinity of boreholes. These are used for Bridge/dam foundation analysis, Insitu materials testing, soil and rock mechanics, earthquake Engineering etc.

  • Electrical Resistivity Tomography (2D)

    This is a technique which provides 2D images of the subsurface efficiently and effectively as a result of the availability of automated data acquisition systems and efficient user friendly inversion software.

  • Thermal Conductivity

    This method is used to monitor the distribution of temperature in shallow geothermal systems. This helps us design the system better, prevent any thermal feedback and also control the thermally effected zone.

  • Borehole Geophysical logging/SP/SPR/Natural Gamma/Density

    Borehole geophysics is used to record and analyze measurements of physical properties made in wells or test holes. Borehole geophysics is used in ground-water and environmental investigations to obtain information on well construction, rock lithology and fractures, permeability and porosity, and water quality. The geophysical logging system consists of probes, cable and draw works, power and processing modules, and data recording units. The most efficient logging systems are controlled by a computer and can collect multiple logs with one pass of the probe.

  • Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR)

    GPR is an instrument that is designed to detect electromagnetic contrasts in the soil and contains a transmitting antenna and a receiving antenna that allow it to send and detect electromagnetic waves at given frequencies. These instruments range from 110V-220V.
